The qualifying tournament for the next edition of the Olympic Games, which will take place in Paris in 2024, has ended. The five Rana Verona players involved in this preliminary race were unable to gain direct access to the final phase with their respective national teams. Now to qualify for the five-ring competition it will be necessary to go through a good run in the 2024 VNL, which will determine the final ranking and promote the last five participating teams.
ITALY
Fefè De Giorgi’s Italian group finished in fourth place in Group A, with defeats in the last two matches proving fatal. However, Cretu’s team finished their journey with a smile, clearly beating Serbia also thanks to the 14 points scored by Mozic. BULGARIA
Bulgaria’s journey in this competition ended with two successes, but they were not enough to reach the top two in Group C. After overcoming Mexico without any difficulty – with Grozdanov scoring 1 point in attack – Konstantinov’s team beat Belgium in tie-break.
