Emma Villas Siena is organizing an important youth tournament that will attract some of the best Italian volleyball talents. This is the Giuliano Lisi Memorial, which will take place on January 4th in the Castelnuovo Berardenga gym.
It will be a quadrangular event: the Under 15 teams of Emma Villas Siena, host and organizer of the event, the Torretta Volley Livorno team, one of the most popular clubs at youth level in Tuscany, and then two clubs of absolute international prestige will take to the field such as Lube Civitanova Marche and Sir Perugia. It will therefore be one of the most important and significant youth sector tournaments at Italian level at this juncture of the sporting year.
Through the organization and carrying out of the tournament, we also intend to keep alive the memory of one of the most capable and esteemed coaches in the youth sector, a master of life and sport, a discoverer of many talents who have distinguished themselves at the top of Italian and international volleyball, and who for many years was at the helm of the Tuscan regional selection as well as collaborator of the various Italian youth national teams: Giuliano Lisi.
“We wanted to organize this quadrangular because through this tournament we want to keep the memory of Giuliano Lisi alive – comments the manager of the youth sector of Emma Villas Siena, Luigi Banella. – We are talking about a great coach, a coach who for a very long time dedicated himself scrupulously and carefully to the growth of the youth sector. Giuliano Lisi was a very important figure for volleyball, for many years he followed the Tuscan regional team and worked with the national youth teams”.
Then on the pitch on January 4th at Castelnuovo Berardenga. The best Under 15 talents from Emma Villas Siena, Torretta Livorno, Lube Civitanova Marche and Sir Perugia will compete with the aim of winning the trophy. The event will be useful for the growth and maturation of these kids. All in the memory of a great volleyball master like Giuliano Lisi.
