The third week of preparation for Sir Susa Vim Perugia is coming to an end.
The technical training sessions this afternoon and tomorrow will close the third block of work of the Block Devils who will then take advantage of the weekend of rest before resuming operations at the beginning of next week.
Always maximum attention and concentration in the work to be carried out at the PalaBarton with the boys, both those of the first team and those aggregated from the youth sector, who spare no energy in the technical-tactical activity and with Angelo Lorenzetti who, assisted by his staff, is already starting to give general directives and present his volleyball beliefs to the team.
On the staff, one of the new arrivals is Massimiliano Giaccardi, assistant coach.
“We are working very well,” the forty-nine year old from Piedmont immediately attacks. “I must say that I was surprised by the young guys who are joining us and I really like the attitude of the experts who are helping the group. All this means that the level is rising day after day. In terms of work, we are laying the tactical foundations, working on the block, on defense and on the approach we want to give to this team. I think the guys are doing an important volume of work. We started with volleyball on the court from day one and now we are increasing the playing time.”
Twelve years after the last time (in Piacenza in the 2010-2011 season) Giaccardi returned to work together with Angelo Lorenzetti.
“Returning to work with Angelo was beautiful and exciting. I remembered his working method, he has obviously changed some things, I have to keep up and adapt to be as prompt as possible and lend a hand in the work. In general I must say that here in Perugia I immediately found myself very well. I thank the staff and management for how they welcomed me, we started off on the right foot from day one to start working.”
Work which, after two and a half “itinerant” weeks, has returned to having the PalaBarton as its stable base.
“It was very important to return to PalaBarton, we couldn’t wait because everything is perfect here. We spent a good two weeks in other locations for a very good reason. We saw our national team play some good games in front of a good crowd at the arena, but we are certainly now happy to be able to return to work in our home”.
