From today the new season of Avimecc Volley Modica officially opens. After meeting yesterday evening for a dinner in a well-known restaurant in the city, in fact, this morning the squad of the first team met at the “PalaMoak” to start preparations in view of the A3 championship.
The young under players Gianmarco Italia and Antonio La Rocca (in the photo) have also been added to the first team, who will be able to train with people who are much more experienced than them and perhaps “steal” the secrets to continue growing as the white and blue management wants who has always believed in their youth sector. The confirmation of all this comes from Stefano Chillemi who grew up in the youth team of Volley Modica today, is its captain, or like Piero Turlà who, like Chillemi, grew up in the Modica youth team and after having defended their colors in Serie A3, today is the new Team Manager of the County Sextet.
Doing the honors this morning at the “PalaMoak” was coach Enzo Distefano who together with the athletic trainer Emanuele Cappello, his second Salvo Nicastro, the physiotherapist Giovanni Aprile and the nutritionist Giuseppe Giuliano in these first days of work will try to dispose of to the athletes the “toxins” accumulated during the period of competitive inactivity.
Around the team there is a lot of enthusiasm and desire to work to be ready for the official start of the season in October, where the main objective is to “cancel” the last A3 series championship in which the blue-and-whites were still managed to save the category.
“I am lucky enough to be once again the captain of Avimecc Volley Modica which I consider a big family and which for the fifth consecutive year will compete in the A3 series championship – explains Stefano Chillemi – we start with the same desire, the same ambitions and the same enthusiasm of the other seasons and above all with the desire to win and do well. The A3 series championship has raised the level further this year, so it will be very difficult, but we will do our best to have our say. Starting today – he continues – we will try to forget last season, the club is committed to the market by putting important added values on the roster. The championship will certainly be difficult, but the team is of an excellent level and we will all try to give our best to win as many games as possible.
