The one between Pool Libertas Cantù and BCC Castellana Grotte is an endless challenge this season. After two regular season games, one in the DelMonte® Coppa Italia Serie A2, two in the quarter-finals of the Serie A2 Play Offs, this third and decisive Game-3 is added. Whoever wins this match will then face Agnelli Tipiesse Bergamo in the Semifinal, always in the best of three matches. The kick-off is scheduled for Sunday 23 April 2023 at 18.00 at the PalaFrancescucci in Casnate con Bernate, and another sporting “battle” is expected as were the first two matches of the series.
Coach Francesco Denora presents the challenge like this: “What happened on Wednesday evening was exceptional, but now let’s not indulge ourselves and look forward to the next final. Sunday will be an inside-out for both teams, and I expect another nervous and hard-fought match. By now we know each other all too well, and every single ball can be decisive. We were very good at limiting their wall during our sideout, and that’s always the key. In addition, we want to take advantage of our court, where we are able to play important games on serve. The setter-opposite diagonal is made up of two Brazilians: Pedro Jukoski arrives in the control room, the last two seasons in Spain, while the opposite is the confirmed Theo Fabricio Lopes Nery. The spikers are the confirmed Captain, and ex of the day, Nicola Tiozzo, and the new entry Paolo Luigi Di Silvestre from Lagonegro, with Claudio Cattaneo from Motta di Livenza ready to enter to give his contribution. At the center we find the confirmed Luca Presta, and the new entry Matteo Zamagni, fresh from the triumphant championship in the Conad Reggio Emilia jersey. The libero is Andrea Marchisio, the last 5 seasons at Lube Civitanova Marche, with whom he has won everything that was possible to win.
