At the Virgilio Gardens this evening the city gave its first greeting to the team, who gathered in front of the institutions and the fans for a pleasant informal meeting with the presence of President Bongiovanni with the Vice-President Elisabetta Zelatore, the management of the Ionian club, the Deputy mayor Fabrizio Manzulli and councilor Gianni Azzaro, sponsors and fans.
President Bongiovanni opens his greetings: “There is a lot of emotion like every year but also awareness at the start of this new championship I am happy to be with you I am happy to be with people who show intelligence and humanity I thank everyone from the most small to largest. I thank all those who are giving us a hand: I asked my boys and I first said that we are a big family we have been playing volleyball for 25 years and I love having strong ties with people because today we need to love polite people who all the days demonstrate the affection we have for this sport which is a human sport, a family sport that brings people together”
Vice-President Zelatore echoes him: “To all the friends who are here this evening: we are here as a family, we have thought of this event as a way to get together to find each other and to welcome all of you who have come from all your towns and cities, even from far away together with those who accompanied you, your companions, your wives, your parents and all those who together with us and with you represent our family and the way to continue to carry on our dream: to do things well with heart and brain and to do them above all by putting together many pieces of convergence, many confetti that this city manages to represent. These people who are here with you in their big small medium way for what they can and for what they feel like doing, they give us a hand”
The Deputy Mayor Fabrizio Manzulli and the councilor for sport Gianni Azzaro underline that the Prisma in Taranto not only represents the South, but has always embodied the values of sport: competition, teamwork, respect for the rules, however with a careful eye and always ready for social and inclusion. Presidents Bongiovanni and Zelatore have always had a particular eye for those who have been less fortunate.
The municipal administration says it is happy with Gioiella Prisma’s invitation to its other sister, Cus Jonico basketball to go and play at the PalaMazzola and share with them those spaces that have now become the temple of sport.
