On Sperotto’s diagonal there is another reconfirmation, last year he signed a two-year contract because Reggio Emilia is now his home: the opposite Antonino Suraci will wear the colors of Volley Tricolore for the fourth season in a row.
“The thought of returning to the PalaBigi fills me with joy: it is our home and after a season like last year’s, made up of ups and downs, sacrifices and final redemption, it will be even more special, I can’t wait to get started ”.
Suraci, born in 1996, experienced electrifying seasons, such as the one in which Conad won the first Italian Cup and the first promotion to the SuperLega, and seasons such as the one just ended which saw Reggio save himself on the last day of the Regular Season: “We did understand people that Reggio never gives up and the public has repaid us with their presence at the arena to support us. But now we leave everything behind to start again even stronger and more aware than before”.
As demonstrated in recent seasons, the level of Serie A2 is really high and it is an extremely competitive league: “Now there are no more ‘buffer’ teams, everyone is fighting to win. Teams built to move up the ladder sometimes falter and slip up; while teams given up for dead overturn the predictions and fight to the end, like Motta di Livenza who made a great sprint in the end risking saving himself on the penultimate day of the championship. The difference now in Serie A2 will be being a “killer”: every time we have the chance to win a game or a set we will have to be able to achieve the result and this will allow us to have a serene season”.
