Stefano Mengozzi returns home. After the two-year experience in Perugia, the 38-year-old middle blocker from Ravenna is preparing to start the fourth moment of his career in Ravenna, the eleventh season overall in his hometown.
“It is a return strongly desired by both sides – admits the player -: both from me, as there was a desire to return, and from the club, to which I feel very close. Then obviously there was the push from Marco Bonitta, who expressly asked me to make my experience available to the group, not only to raise the competitiveness of the workforce but also to help the many young people to make a further leap in quality” .
For Mengozzi it will be a homecoming in every sense since he will find himself playing internal matches at the Pala Costa. “And it will be a real emotion because I started training there at the age of 14 and I have always considered it my second home. I will find many friends again but I hope to see new faces too, people who have approached volleyball in recent years. Beautiful and indelible memories bind me to the Pala Costa: I hope to see it always full of audiences and I hope it will increasingly become the fort and the place to build the winning base of the group that will be forming”.
