Stefano Ferri is only 23 years old, but already boasts seven years of presence in Serie A, which confirms him among the most promising young players on the national scene. He attacks his first balls in the Virtus Fano youth team and is placed very early on in Club Italia, where he gains experience as a spiker both in Serie B and in A2; he stands out on the courts of Potenza Picena, Civitanova and Macerata, which in 20/21 bets on him in the opposite role. In the season that has just ended, the return home to Fano, with a tally of 308 balls grounded from place four, a regular season played at the top and a vanished promotion to the play-off with Ortona.

“It was a positive year in any case, comments the athlete: we faced each opponent head-on, with ups and downs, as is normal in sport, and we finished the group at the top of the standings. Unfortunately we didn’t hit the cup and promotion goals, but I think that sometimes defeats motivate you more than victories and, after the championship ended, I’m taking this away too “.

When asked about his position preference on the pitch, Stefano replies with lucidity: “Opposite – who perhaps have less pressure because they don’t receive, but are always called to score points – or spiker, which requires solidity even in defense, it makes no difference to me: the important thing is to play. My goal is to improve in terms of continuity and I believe that I will find the right environment in Brescia. This is a club that knows how to play volleyball and the years of presence in the category prove it. The roster set up so far tells me that it will be an ambitious and stimulating season for me”.

Coach Zambonardi is sure: “Stefano is a very talented young man who already has a wealth of important experience. He is a spiker with great technical qualities: he has an excellent attack shot and is also very good at blocking. He can play both in place four and as the opposite: he is a boy who will be of great help to us and I am sure he will be able to find a lot of space on the court”.
