Back in the net again, even close to New Year’s Eve. Having gotten over the disappointment of the deficit in the Venetian derby with Pallavolo Motta and the three stops in sequence, Belluno Volley is ready to turn the page. And to fly to Sardinia, where his return round will open. Because tomorrow (Saturday 30 December, 6pm), at the Pala Pirastu in Cagliari, the match against Cus, the current fourth strength of the Serie A3 Credem Banca championship, is scheduled. And fresh from qualifying for the Italian Cup.
LOOKING FOR REDEMPTION – On the island, Captain Fabio Bisi and his companions are looking for redemption. And they intend to return to a success that has been missing since December 7th: «We are coming off a match in which everything went wrong. And we didn’t get any fundamentals right. We knew how difficult the commitment was, but we never gave the impression of being able to get back up: not even from a character point of view. In short, a race to forget. Let’s look at the next one.”
STAY ATTACHED TO THE MATCH – The opposite team, who are 13 points away from reaching 3400 in Serie A, are not discouraged: «Let’s start again with work in the gym. We don’t have many training sessions available to prepare for the Cagliari match, but in those few sessions we will have to push as hard as we can. And arriving in Sardinia with a very different mentality than that displayed in Motta: more combative and less defeatist. It won’t be easy, but we will always have to “stay there”, stay attached to the match. The away match is long and our opponents will be able to rely on home advantage. However, there is no need to dwell on the difficulties: we are an excellent team, full of strong players. And we must be aware of this.” Bisi’s arm is now “charged” by Leonardo Ferrato, new entry in the control room: «We attackers, first of all, have the task of helping the new setter, called upon immediately to find an agreement with the whole team».
NO GETTING DOWN – After having closed the first half of the championship, the time is ripe for a very first assessment: «The ranking is clear, we are not in the position we would like to be in – concludes captain Bisi -. The important thing, however, is not to get discouraged: we still have several games to play. And we will try to improve the situation. On a personal level? I feel very comfortable in Belluno: with the city, the club, the group, the staff. All that’s missing is the results, but I’m convinced they will arrive soon: now we have to grit our teeth. And soon we will savor brighter moments. I’m confident”.
