There are four days left until the end of the regular season. Emma Villas Aubay Siena has matches against Lube on the calendar (Sunday at home at PalaEstra starting at 18), then the following week away to Taranto. The last two league matches will be at home against Verona and finally away to Monza.
In Modena, on Saturday evening, the Tuscan team struggled. He lost an incredible first set after 39 minutes, ending at 34-32, then he didn’t express a good game in the second set but recovered well in the third set, winning it. Still in the lead, finally, Siena lost the fourth set. The feeling we had at the PalaPanini is that Siena has continued on its path of growth and continuity with respect to the last outings, even if after three consecutive victories a defeat came and no points were scored in this circumstance.
“The next four matches will be among the most important in the history of our club – declares the President of Emma Villas Aubay Siena, Giammarco Bisogno. – They represent an almost field and decisive passage for us, we must face them knowing that the future of our path and of our organization is also affected. Saturday’s match in Modena was very difficult for me to accept, the team played an important match. We have seen relevant technical and character aspects, I also want to underline that our team comes from a series of misfortunes and injuries that are not trivial. I think of Swan Ngapeth’s forced farewell, who decided to leave without a just cause; not to mention Giulio Pinali’s injury, and then I think of Zbigniew Bartman, who at the end of last week had a flare-up of pain in his calf and whose situation is now under observation”.
President Needo continues: “We are also struggling with a series of episodes that probably would have knocked out some other team. Our group, on the other hand, is fighting and is proving to be up to par, starting with Federico Pereyra who played a very good match in Modena. The team believes in salvation. The match in Modena drained a lot of energy, even if we weren’t able to score any points. It is important that the boys continue to have adrenaline and pure energy in the next challenges. So go ahead with the same determination and with the same intensity, each game can in fact give fundamental points to conquer salvation. We have to go on, grit our teeth, toil and fight like this. The group accepted my appeal and the staff are certainly doing a great job.”
