Another week with the suitcase in hand for the Delta Group Porto Viro, awaiting two consecutive trips. Wednesday 15 November at 8pm stop at the Pala De André in Ravenna for the recovery of the first day of Serie A2 Credem Banca against the hosts Consar. On Sunday 19 November the nerofuchsia will move to Abruzzo to challenge Abba Pineto in the seventh round of the championship.
Ravenna is close, in space, in time and also in the rankings. The team led by the legendary Marco Bonitta has collected 9 points so far, only one more than Porto Viro, and has a record of three victories and two defeats, equal to the Delta Group. The result of the last round was also the same, with Consar winning 3-1 on the Ortona pitch, while Garnica and co beat Castellana with the same score (but at home).
“It will certainly be a detailed, balanced, hard-fought match – commented Delta Group center back Mattia Eccher in the pre-match – Ravenna is a young team, they have important individuals but above all they are a very united group. These are, in my opinion, the aspects that will work in their favor. On our part, however, the ability to support each other, remaining focused on the match and on our goal, will be decisive. The three-point victory with Castellana was a breath of fresh air for everyone, now we have to be good at not letting our guard down. Beyond the technical aspects, I think we still have to work a lot on consistency, but I’m confident that time will help us in this sense.”
That of Pala De André will also be the challenge between the two opposites of the future of the national team, Bovolenta (son of Portovirese Vigor) in the Ravenna metafield, Barotto in the Polesine one. Eccher played with both and gives a personal interpretation of the duel: “Both are young, talented and have extraordinary athletic abilities. I’m sure that, as well as physical and technical, it will be a mental challenge between them. I’m curious to see them in action, they will certainly make an important contribution to their team, but I don’t think the outcome of the match will depend only on their performances.”
Speaking of young people on the launching pad, on Sunday against Castellana Eccher experienced his first as a starter in Serie A2: “An experience as evocative as it was unpredictable. In our camp there were new teammates, in the other old friends with whom I played in the national team, it was almost surreal but very fun and pleasant.
