Coming from Pineto where he won two trophies last year (Supercoppa and Coppa Italia), coming close to promotion, Pietro Merlo of Marano Vicentino arrives in Fano and will fill the role of spiker with the promise of “doing everything to achieve the goal that with Pineto I was unable to achieve” and also recalls “Fano and Pineto have created a beautiful challenge, a head-to-head to grab the first place in the regular season”.
The past is the past, now Pietro is keen to recall that “I already worked with coach Tofoli two years ago in San Donà, a very positive year which culminated in me reaching the playoffs, while in Fano he recalls a field in which “I have never lost and this could be used as a good luck charm during the season to come”.
With the battleship Pineto Pietro Merlo, born in 1999, 200 cm tall, scored 190 points practically always alternating with Baldari: “It was healthy competition – continues the Venetian – the team was very strong and for me it was the first back to these levels”. He says about himself: “Being tall, I have an effective serve and I usually make few mistakes, I have to work more against blocks but I also come to Fano to improve in this fundamental”.
Pietro Merlo is a computer engineer and would like to enroll in the master’s degree in Urbino with an “applied computer science” specialization: “I would like to continue to consolidate the combination of volleyball/study – concludes the new Virtussino – for the rest there is very little time”. Then he lets himself go…..: “I love electronic music and I get along quite well with the piano”. Who knows if he’s ready to “play” them well for our adversaries…
