The spotlights are back on at PalabancaSport on Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza: in the late afternoon today, preparations for the 2023-2024 season got underway. One hundred and thirteen days after the last official release and eight weeks after their SuperLega debut Credem Banca (scheduled for 22 October at the PalabancaSport against Padua) the red and white team has gathered. And under the orders of the new coach Andrea Anastasi he has begun to carry out the training program which, at least in the first part, will be characterized by the presence in the gym of less than half of the players in the squad. All the others, in fact, are at work with their respective national teams.
To respond to coach Andrea Anastasi’s first call-up, in front of a good number of fans, today there were only five of the fourteen players on the official roster: the confirmed Francesco Recine (spiker), Nicolò Hoffer (freezer), Edoardo Caneschi (central ) and the new Fabio Ricci (central) and Bruno Dias (setter). From next Monday the opposite Fabrizio Gironi and the central Robertlandy Simon will join the group.
Even the technical and medical staff that will work with the Mantuan coach throughout the season is not yet complete. In addition to the Sports Director Alessandro Fei and the Director of the Technical Area Ninni De Nicolo, as of today the assistant coach Antonio Valentini, the assistant coach Matteo Bologna, the physiotherapist Riccardo Anfosso assisted by Tonino Barrile who will also take care of the youth sector, the Doctor Carlo Segalini and Osteopath Giovanni Berzioli. In this first phase, the athletic preparation will be taken care of by Francesco Rizzi pending the return of Davide Grigoletto engaged with the Swiss national team. Scoutman Gabriele Antola will join the group after his commitments with the Bulgarian women’s national team.
The complete program of the first week of preparation in view of the 2023-2024 season, to be carried out entirely at PalabancaSport, includes a double work session on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, a work session on Wednesday afternoon while rest on Saturday and Sunday. This week’s workouts are open to the public.
“I am particularly happy and also excited – underlined the coach Andrea Anastasi – to start a new season in a new city and club. For several weeks we will work in small ranks, in about a fortnight we will add some players from the youth teams, in this period we will work on individual players.
