CEV Challenge Cup 2024
The Mint Vero Volley Monza is ready to return to the field tomorrow, Wednesday 29 November, at 8.00 pm, within the friendly walls of the Opiquad Arena, where they will face Sporting CP Lisbon for the return match of the Round of 32 of the Challenge Cup 2024. Monza aims to go through after last Thursday’s tie-break victory, which put qualification on the right track. The Brianza players will have to be good at managing their physical and mental energies, after the marathon played against Piacenza (a good 2 hours and 20 minutes of match) and in view of Sunday 26th in the evening postponement of the seventh day of the SuperLega Credem Banca. The success against the Emilians guaranteed Mint third place in the standings, catching Piacenza on 14 points thanks to a first-leg round, at the moment, with a score of five victories and only two defeats.
Japanese spiker Ran Takahashi is out, struggling with a slight muscle injury. Monza, however, will still be able to rely on the outbursts of Canadian Eric Loeppky, MVP of the last round with 21 balls hit on the ground, and on the team’s coherence, which has emerged in a decisive way at the start of the season.
