Day before the Del Monte® Supercoppa SuperLega 2023, the first major event of the season. Tomorrow, Tuesday 31 October, the Biella Forum will host the Semi-finals, while on Wednesday 1 November, at 5.00 pm, the decisive match between the two Finals will take place. Rai Sport live broadcasts and VBTV live streaming are scheduled for all matches.
Three races are scheduled, therefore, in the 5000-seater Piedmontese facility. Another unforgettable showcase for Piedmontese volleyball with the Lega Pallavolo Serie A event in collaboration with the Piedmont Region, the Municipality of Biella, the FIPAV Piedmont Regional Committee and the Ticino Sesia Tanaro Territorial Committee and the Biellese Volleyball School. Four teams qualified based on the results of the last SuperLega Credem Banca tournament will chase the trophy. At 5.30pm on Tuesday the Italian champions Itas Trentino will take to the field against Sir Susa Vim Perugia, the team that scored the most points in the past Regular Season, while to follow, at 8.30pm, Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, strong of the triumph in the Del Monte® Italian Cup, they will compete against Cucine Lube Civitanova, finalists in the 2022/23 Scudetto Play Offs. After the 2023 Champions League Final in Turin, Piedmont renews its feeling with great volleyball by bringing world-class aces to the same Taraflex. Three of the four rivals are at the start with a new head coach, only Lube has confirmed its coach at the reins of the team.
In the past season, Itas Trentino closed the Lega Volley events celebrating the tricolor and dreams of starting again in the same way in an event won already in 2011, 2012 and 2021, but in the remake of the 2022 semi-final they find the defending champions of Super Cup. Sir Susa Vim Perugia has collected four on the board (2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022) and dreams of pokerissimo to start an ambitious season in the best possible way. In the Regular Season the defending Italian champions are undefeated after two winning marathons at the tie break, while the Block Devils march with full points and, together with Piacenza, look down on all their rivals.
Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, currently leading the SuperLega with full points together with Perugia, is participating in the competition for the first time with enthusiasm and with a great desire to repeat the perfect two days of the 2023 Italian Cup. On the other side of the net there is is the finalist team of last season.
