After 10 seasons as head coach of ShedirPharma Sorrento, in which he demonstrated undisputed leadership qualities leading the green-and-white partnership to peaks never reached in its history with the double promotion from Serie C to Serie A3, coach Nicola Esposito accepts a new challenge alongside Francesco Racaniello as second coach.
There is a relationship of esteem and friendship between the two technicians, so the decision taken in agreement with the club is aimed at adding new experiences, with coach Esposito ready to make his skills available, in a daily confrontation that will enrich the already important background of the Sorrento coach.
With what spirit do you approach the new role of second coach at ShedirPharma Sorrento?
“I will face the season with the usual enthusiasm and passion that drove me in my many years as a head coach. It’s right that after so many years the company wants to see something new, and it’s therefore something I understood perfectly. I’m the first to want to get involved and learn new things, and being able to do it with a friend like Francesco Racaniello, whom I have infinite respect for, has convinced me to still be a Folgore man”
What is your relationship with coach Racaniello, having also faced him as an opponent two seasons ago when he coached Marcianise?
“Apart from the double challenge in Serie A3, we have known each other for a very long time having completed the second degree together, so there was already a splendid relationship between us. His presence certainly influenced my choice: I think I have a lot to learn, just as he too knows he can count on my contribution. I am sure that, together with all the rest of the staff, we will form a good work team”.
