A great desire to do well in a season that promises to be interesting and with many teams aiming to achieve good results in the Serie A2 championship. Emma Villas Volley Siena presented itself to the press this morning during the media day. Many new faces in the white and blue house, starting with the two volleyball players who make up the diagonal of the Tuscan team: the French setter Thomas Nevot and the Brazilian opposite Matheus Krauchuk.
Both have international experience, both with their respective national teams and in continental club trophies. Nevot is at his first experience in Italy, Krauchuk is a real globetrotter who returns to the Belpaese after wearing the Santa Croce sull’Arno shirt in the past.
“There is already a good feeling between us – declares Matheus Krauchuk. – I am very happy to return to Italy, I think it will be a wonderful experience for Thomas as well. I like him and I was immediately struck by his professionalism and desire to do and to sacrifice himself on the pitch. He trains very well, I can immediately trust him. It feels strange to be among the ‘oldest’ of the team, the years go by (even if Matheus is still only 25, ed). I will try to pass on the experience I have accumulated over the years to the younger players, for me it is a pleasure to be of help to my teammates. In Italy playing volleyball is something different than in other countries. I love Tuscany, my wife’s family has Italian ancestors and therefore I can say that I feel a bit at home. Culture, food and volleyball are fantastic in Italy”.
“In this team you push a lot, you immediately started working hard and very well – are the statements of Thomas Nevot, who is starting to learn Italian. – Matheus is a guy who puts a lot of effort into what he does, it’s undeniable and it’s a quality that emerges immediately when you look at his training sessions. I like spending time with him, even off the pitch. The season will be long and it is important to create a good atmosphere and a good atmosphere within the group. There are also several young guys on the roster, however I see them ready for a championship of this type and I see in them the possibility of further improvement”.
