Marco Monaci and Alessandro Passaponti will be the two new assistant coaches who will assist coach Gianluca Graziosi in leading Emma Villas Siena in the next sports season. The two technicians boast an important professional curriculum and have led formations of the white and blue youth sector with good results. In the next championship they will also be part of the Sienese first team staff.
“I am pleased and delighted that coach Gianluca Graziosi is leading the team – commented Marco Monaci. – The team will be quite young, and he is very good at working with young people, there are also some guys on the roster that I have had the opportunity to coach over the years. For me, being part of the technical staff of the first team is a huge satisfaction. I’ve been with this club for many years, lately I’ve mainly been involved in the youth sector, I’m happy because we’ve achieved good results and we’ve helped some players grow so much that they can get to the first team”.
“I think that in this group there is the right mix as regards the players – continues coach Monaci. – There are also some elements that are more experienced, but still young. We will have to build the group every day with workouts in the gym. We will prepare ourselves in the best possible way in view of the next championship, which promises to be balanced. I’m confident, I know how coach Gianluca Graziosi works, with him the players are able to make significant improvements. We will work to grow and improve the guys who will be part of the roster and then we will look for our most effective team play”.
“I feel great satisfaction with this assignment, for me it will be an experience to be lived completely – are the words of Alessandro Passaponti. – I don’t want to say that it’s the icing on the cake, but after so many years in which I have dedicated myself to this sport it is a sort of career recognition. I hope to be useful to coach Gianluca Graziosi, who is a person who deserves a lot, he is a great worker. I want to learn, to put myself at his disposal and to bring out the best in the guys who will be part of the roster. I think a competitive team is being set up, there have been good additions, quality volleyball players. Some have already played on important stages, then there are several young people. It will be a challenge within a challenge.”
Again Passaponti: “I am very happy to be part of this project, I will give my best for what I am allowed. We will have a staff made up of experience and youth.
