Surname “Mozzato”. Your role is central. And the shirt number, 12. In fact, Mozzato is and remains a pillar of Belluno Volleyball. He was – or rather, he discovered he was – already in the summer of 2021, when he arrived from Treviso and B. He is, even more so, even now. In a team that started training last Tuesday, under the guidance of coach Gian Luca Colussi. And who intends to raise the bar, after the salvation achieved in 2022 and the playoffs faded by a whisker – indeed, by a point – no later than last spring.
MANY CHANGES – Compared to the first version of the rhinos in the third series, there are three left: Gonzalo Martinez (once off, now a spiker), Filippo Maccabruni in the control room. And, precisely, Mozzato: «Several things have changed since my arrival at this club – says the centre-back -. The club has clearly grown and the team, almost revolutionised, is stronger». Matteo, in the Dolomites, feels perfectly at ease: «I’ve always had a great time here, no one has ever made me want for anything. In addition, the volleyball project is important and ambitious, while the staff is valuable: consequently, the series of components prompted me to extend my experience in Belluno».
STRENGTH OF EXAMPLE – He is of few words, Matteo. But, in his own way, he is a leader. Thanks to the individual technique, to the care of the fundamentals. And to the strength of the example: «I will give an extra hand to the group, if it is true that, compared to some athletes, I know the environment better. From this point of view, I hope to help the newcomers: there is tranquility here, as well as serenity and a great desire to do things. Now we just have to work hard: the rest will come by itself». Mozzato sets himself well-defined goals: «On a personal level, I would like to continue to improve. All in all I’m still young, I still have a lot to learn: I think I can grow further. If we talk about the team, however, the goal has already been established by the club: we try to respect it».
