One week before the start of the European Championships, Italy won the twentieth edition of the Wagner Memorial, overcoming Poland in the last match with the result of 3-1 (25-18, 25-23, 21-25, 25-17) and closing the tournament with 7 points, with two victories and a defeat in the tie-break. Also protagonist of the competition was Leandro Mosca, who played the second match against Slovenia, scoring 12 points on the scoresheet.
Rok Mozic also took the field in the three days in Krakow, collecting 5 points with the Slovenian national team, the result of two successes, one of which in five sets, and a knockout. On a personal level, the hammer born in 2002 scored 38 points, facing all three matches against Poland, Italy and France, and thanks to this score he received the prize for best opposite of the competition.
For both Rana Verona players, the square on Polish soil represented an important stage of preparation in view of the imminent start of EuroVolley 2023.
