President Bongiovanni has reached an agreement with Mirko Corsano for a welcome return to the role of Sports Director in the 2023/2024 championship
Born in Casarano (LE) on 28/10/1973, and raised in Ugento, Corsano boasts of a long career as a player, he played as libero for Modena, Milan, Macerata and Rome (until 2011/2012) winning various titles and trophies, including three championships, a Champions League and three CEV Cups.
Corsano has collected more than 200 appearances for the national team, winning a World Cup in 1998 and three European championships (1999, 2003, 2005). At the Sydney 2000 Olympics he won the bronze. He wins the title of best freestyle in the 2005 European Championships in Rome and in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
From the 2013-14 season Corsano also plays the role of coach, first in Poland as an assistant coach, winning a Polish Cup, then as second for the national team. From the 2020/2021 season, Mirko Corsano becomes manager and ds at the service of Virtus Tricase and Aurispa Alessano Lecce.
In the 2021-22 season he enriches the technical-managerial framework of Prisma Taranto by working as sports director for the club of President Bongiovanni newly promoted to the Superlega, bringing his professional and personal experience to the team, obtaining the first historic salvation
