Slovakian Peter Michalovic, 202 cm, will be the new opposite of Virtus Volley Fano by Smartsystem.
Michalovic arrived in Fano on Saturday and will have his first training session on Monday evening under the careful guidance of the Tofoli-Roscini duo.
For the Slovakian it was a return to Italy after a six-year period abroad: “I had a good time in Italy – Peter’s first words – happy to go back. Having played here for a few years has helped me gain experience and learn about your championship.”
In recent seasons the new Virtussino opposite has played in the top Russian championship, in France and Greece but returning to Italy has a special flavour: “Italy is a top country for volleyball – says Michalovic – I hope to be able to give a lot to Fano and achieve important goals . I played in high-level foreign leagues, now I have arrived in Italy and I feel very good.”
The “ball” passes to the technical staff of Virtus who will have to gradually insert the new arrival into the mechanisms: “He is a high level player – states coach Paolo Tofoli – he knows the championship well, we will have to be good at measuring his inclusion to be ready with the championship.”
Finally, President Emidio Cennerilli: “We must give continuity to last season – concludes the Virtussian President – I am sure that people will come and give our boys the right welcome”.
