Matteo Meschiari receives Andrea Innocenzi’s legacy and is the new captain of Gamma Chimica Brugherio.
Modenese by birth, Milanese by adoption. Meschiari, coming from Anderlini Volleyball, experienced the prime of the youth team as Diavoli Powervolley, colors with which he won territorial and regional titles and a national Under 19 bronze and then concluded his career with the victory, in the 2021-22 season, of the Del Monte Junior League of the Serie A Volleyball League, a competition in which he was elected MVP.
After three years, in which he collected experiences between Serie A2 and Super League, he returns “home” to lead the very young Gamma Chimica.
Sunny, energetic and enthusiastic. He has experience, leadership skills and knows how to work as a team player. The perfect profile for the role of captain that the staff and club immediately decided to entrust to him.
Meschiari’s first statements as captain: “It is a strong emotion to be the captain of the first team of the Pink Devils, a club that has given me so much and made me grow. I’m happy to be back and that the club has given me this recognition. I hope to be captain in the best possible way and to help all my teammates, especially the younger ones, to grow and improve together. I will be a captain with a lot of energy, as many of you already know, who will try to convey a lot of enthusiasm to the boys to try to achieve the objectives we have set ourselves.”
On work and the group, just over fifteen days before the start of the championship, he adds: “We are working well and very intensely; we certainly need to perfect every aspect to be able to best express our team play. The championship will be long and we will face very experienced teams so we will have to be able to immediately gain space and initiative on the pitch but above all keep the level of our game consistently high. It’s not long now and I can’t wait to get started.”
Appointment on Sunday 15 October at 6.00 pm with the seasonal debut of Gamma Chimica Brugherio in the Serie A3 Credem Banca Championship against Geetit Bologna at the Paolo VI building in Brugherio.
