Mario Maltinti was the soul of Folgore Pallavolo San Miniato which for over 50 years has never failed in its commitment to the world of volleyball. A pillar not only for San Miniato volleyball, but for the whole movement.
A man, a sports manager, who has been able to accompany many young talents over the years, who grew up according to the healthiest principles of sport, and who has always stood out for having always worked in favor of the development of youth practice and human growth.
Mario Maltinti also had the merit of creating the Stacchini Trophy from scratch, a youth competition that between the 80s and 90s saw the participation of the youth teams of the most important Italian volleyball realities.
To remember this, the family together with Roberto Ghiretti set up a Committee and promoted the “I Edition of the Mario Maltinti Award”. Sponsored by the Italian Volleyball Federation and FIPAV Tuscany, it aims to be a recognition to volleyball coaches and managers who have contributed to the development of youth worlds, distinguishing themselves for technical competence and attention to human values, in the wake of what Maltinti achieved during his life .
The Jury of the Prize is composed of: Matteo Maltinti (member of the Organizing Committee), Roberto Ghiretti (member of the Organizing Committee), Elio Sità (Member of the FIPAV Federal Council), Giammarco Modi (President of FIPAV Tuscany), Gianni Taccetti (Delegate CONI Florence ), Gian Luca Pasini (La Gazzetta dello Sport Journalist), Luca Pieragnoli (Technical staff member of the Senior Women’s National Team), Marco Bracci (Former athlete of the Italian National Volleyball Team), Marco Mencarelli (Technical Director of the FIPAV Women’s Youth Sector), Angelo Lorenzetti (Italian Champion Coach), Riccardo Taddei (Sports Manager), Roberto Ceccarini (President of the FIPAV Basso Tirreno Territorial Committee).
