On Wednesday, Volley Banca Macerata faced Smartsystem Fano and Paoloni Macerata in the Furiassi-Valenti Memorial, two tests to check the condition of the team and two positive results which allowed the red and whites to lift the trophy, as well as giving even more space to everyone the players on the roster.

Coach Castellano’s boys played some interesting sets, especially in training with Fano, as spiker Davide D’Amato says, “Fano is a good team, we will find them in our group and they put us in difficulty in the first set; we didn’t have our usual positive approach to the match but then we grew and I saw good volleyball from my teammates. Even in the test against Paoloni we improved, but above all we are concentrating on seeing what we can put on the field, improving our physical fitness and the harmony between us players, given that we are an almost entirely new group.”

Coach Castellano has reiterated several times the importance of all the members of the roster, “We know that the coach’s words are not just words, he always shows us that he is attentive to us who perhaps don’t start in the starting six. We put more minutes into our legs on Wednesday and we must be ready, the upcoming season will be long and we want to be available to help the team.” A new joint training session awaits you tomorrow, this time away as guests of Grottazzolina at 5.30pm, “We’re meeting another good team, everyone spoke very highly of them to me. They play in A2, which is the category we would like to reach, so it will be interesting to compete against strong players and prove ourselves up to par.”
