The first match of the new year, which coincides with the 2nd day of return of the Girone Bianco, will see the Med Store Tunit engaged on Sunday at 18 in the difficult away match in Parma. In fact, the hosts are in seventh position, 6 points behind the red and white and they already took the victory at the Banca Macerata Forum in the first leg; now they present themselves with two tie-break victories against Mirandola and Garlasco, after falling 3-0 in Pineto in the penultimate first leg. Med Store Tunit is instead chasing third place, currently occupied by Savigliano, and the fourth consecutive victory after overtaking Bologna, Belluno and San Giustino, in the first return.
The second coach Michele Caldarola relives the 3-1 victory against San Giustino, “It was a test of maturity on the part of the team, even when the opponents became dangerous the boys didn’t lose their compass and maintained control of the game. Starting with a win gave us a big boost in morale.” The race for the first places in the standings continues and Med Store Tunit is looking for new confirmations, “The level in training has risen a lot thanks to the arrival of Lazzaretto, who finally completes the roster and allows us to work more carefully every week. This will help the team better face the difficult phases of the matches, which sometimes got out of hand in the first round”. An interesting challenge against Parma on Sunday, “We will meet an excellent team, even if it will be a different match compared to the first leg: we have grown a lot and have integrated Luisetto and Lazzaretto, but Parma has also added a new opposite, the Bulgarian Hristiyan, who he has already shown his qualities in the first championship outings; they also have a good pair of centre-backs, effective both in attack and blocking. The approach to the match will be fundamental, we will have to try to keep the pressure up by using our weapons, such as the serve and the block-defense phase. It will be a good match.”
The match between WiMORE Parma and Med Store Tunit Macerata will be visible on Sunday live on the official YouTube channel of Lega Volleyball, starting at 6pm.
