Luca Presta is the new middle blocker of Virtus Aversa Wow Green House. The signing of the contract that binds him to the Norman team led by the president Sergio Di Meo took place this afternoon at the club’s headquarters in the presence of the general manager Sergio Di Meo Jr, the sporting director Alberico Vitullo and the coaches Sandro Passaro and Stefano Beltrame.
Presta is born in 1995 and has been in Serie A since 2012. A good 11 seasons between SuperLega and A2, demonstrating the fact that he is one of the most important shots in the whole category. He began playing ‘grown-up’ volleyball at the age of just 13 in the BelVolley youth team (in Belvedere Marittimo, in the province of Cosenza), before moving on immediately to Callipo in Vibo Valentia the following year. In the 2012-13 season he was even promoted to Serie A1 with the number 18 shirt. The first ‘experience’ outside his own Region in A2 with Bcc Castellana Grotte in A2, before returning (for two seasons) to A1 with Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia.
Following Mondovì, still Castellana, Taranto and the last two years in A2 with the Bcc Castellana Grotte. Now he couldn’t help but accept the offer from Wow Green House Aversa, emphasizing “the great affection I found in all the managers in this first meeting. I immediately felt at home, as a boy from the South I found so much enthusiasm and warmth. I think I’m in the right place, I promise everyone to give my all on the pitch and during training. It will be a battle.”
Among the personal goals are those of “growing even more mentally and technically, I met the new coach and I immediately had a super positive impression. What I impose on myself is to convey the ‘cazzimma’ that we in the South have. I feel like a warrior, I never back down”. And then the A2: “It will be a very balanced championship, there won’t be a team that will kill the championship and not even that ‘mattress’. Every Sunday there will be a fight, but we will remove many pebbles from our shoes. We won’t give anything away, the fans will be our extra weapon.”
