Cucine Lube Civitanova returned to work with a great desire to repeat the good performance of the third round in the challenge of Saturday 1 April (8.30 pm) at the Pala AGSM AIM in Verona against WithU in Game 4 of the Quarterfinals. Head to the Play Offs Scudetto Credem Banca with the knowledge that they have managed to raise the level and have what it takes to provide a Lube performance even away, in another match from inside or outside. The goal is to repeat the sporting miracle achieved last season, when the red and white found themselves down after the first two matches of the Semifinal with Itas Trentino, but managed to impact the series by raising their heads and winning in Game 5. A change of rhythm that then led the cooks to compete in the perfect Final.
One of the veterans, Fabio Balaso, talks about his positive sensations:
“In the first two games – says the libero -, especially looking at the statistics, we had played on a par with Verona, but the Scala family had brought home two victories. The progress in reception was evident and paid off in the third match. Zaytsev integrated well into coverage giving balance and stability with his mix of experience and technique. On the other hand, he is an athlete who does not only excel in the fundamentals of attack. By easing Nikolov’s duties for a good part of the match, we allowed our partner to surprise his opponents; Alex was the key man in the dispute, but the road is still long. Another great sporting battle awaits us in Veneto on Saturday. It will be more difficult at WithU’s home and, once again, reception will count for a lot. In addition to attacking well, Verona’s players hit hard. Did we answer from the point of view of personality? We had all talked together with the coach about too many mistakes in the key moments of the sets. In Race 3, on the occasion of the last partial, we brought out the true character of the Lube and we graciously took a victory that for nothing in the world should have eluded us! This attitude must continue at the Pala AGSM AIM, even if we won’t have our audience who supported us greatly on Sunday. We want to do our best to rebalance the series and return to the Eurosole Forum!”.
