The last match of 2023 for Pool Libertas Cantù corresponds to the first matchday of the Serie A2 Credem Banca championship. Coach Francesco Denora Caporusso’s boys will be on stage on Saturday 30 December 2023 at 5.00 pm at the PalaJacazzi in Aversa (CE) against the hosts of the WOW Green House. The Aversani belong to the “big group” of teams with 16 points (with Kemas Lamipel Santa Croce, Conad Reggio Emilia and the Canturini themselves), so it is a real direct clash to get closer to the Play Off area. Campania is a real fort: so far it has only been conquered by two teams, Delta Volley Porto Viro and Abba Pineto.
Coach Francesco Denora Caporusso presents the challenge like this: “We are determined and eager to return to the field immediately after a hard-fought match in which we were unable to gain anything, and there is nothing better than doing it immediately in a direct clash. We will certainly find a warm environment from the point of view of the fans, and this time our nerves will have to be strong in the decisive moments in which we will play the sets. We still remember the first match, which went well for us with an excellent first set which probably lulled us afterwards. We must try to limit their best attackers, Lyutskanov and Argenta above all, and try to disturb their solid second line, led by the excellent Rossini and Canuto. Error management could be decisive. With the second round the countdown for the Play Off grid also begins: even if we are out at the moment, we must be ambitious and do everything to catch them.”.
THE OPPONENTS
Coach Sandro Passaro returns to the Aversa bench after his experiences in Serie A3 Credem Banca with Sabaudia and Tuscania. In the control room we find a well-known face: Riccardo Pinelli, with a very long experience between the SuperLega (with Siena and Verona) and Serie A2 (Reggio Emilia and Aversa among others). Diagonal to him is the confirmed Andrea Argenta, who also has a career in the top two national series (Trento, Ravenna, Calci, Lagonegro, and others). The two spikers are the Brazilian Bruno Canuto, already seen in Italy with the BCC Castellana Grotte shirt, and the Bulgarian Gordan Lyutskanov, who returns after his experience in his homeland to the ranks of Levski Sofia. At the center we find Luca Presta, the last two years at BCC Castellana Grotte, and the confirmed Alberto Marra.
