The red and white preseason is proceeding at full speed. After the first joint training session with their neighbor, Siena, Colli and his teammates are preparing for another test match away from home, this time in Piedmont. Puliservice Acqua S. Bernardo Cuneo, ambitious opponent of the A2 Credem Banca series, will host Kemas Lamipel on Sunday 17 September at 5pm. After last season ended with a safety, never in question, the new Cuneo Volley squad, completely revolutionized compared to the previous one, has all it takes to aim for an excellent placement in the regular season. With Codarin and Botto confirmed, the rest of the staff is entirely revolutionized, including the technician at the helm: Matteo Battocchio. Among the new arrivals in the white and blue jersey, the names of Sottile, Jensen and Volpato stand out, all coming from the Super League. For Sunday the coach will have the entire squad available; Cuneo has already had the opportunity to compete with its neighbors Acqui Terme, newly promoted to the A3 series.
On coach Bulleri’s side, the opposite Klistan Lawrence is still missing, who was recently awarded the best striker of the 2023 Norceca men’s continental championship. The rest of the team will leave for Cuneo to continue preparation in view of the first championship match scheduled for Sunday 15 October at 6pm, as confirmed by the detailed schedule communicated by the League on Thursday 14 September.
Ex of the match: Manuel Coscione, Simone Parodi.
Manuel Coscione: “Cuneo is certainly one of the favorite teams in the championship so Sunday’s match is a top-level test match. In this phase it is good to deal with many realities, possibly of different levels, even if it is an important moment to look above all at our side of the field, and what are the aspects to improve. Having said that, it is important to relate to a team with a high level of play: they too are still working but they are a team with very high quality players within. Personally, it is always a great thrill to play at Pala Ubi Banca. I’m probably biased but I think that for volleyball he is one of the best, if not the best, in Italy. Obviously it conveys particular emotions to me because I grew up there first as a fan and then as a player: when I enter I feel at home.”
