The 2023/24 season officially begins, which promises to be even more exciting for the colors of ShedirPharma Sorrento. The bar is positioned significantly higher, with the arrival of athletes from higher categories or returning from promotions and tough play-off battles.

The first year of A3 was a period of adjustment, with exile in Agerola and many obligations to comply with. The second was that of confirmation, with the return to Sorrento thanks to the incessant work of the Municipal Administration. What can we expect from ShedirPharma Sorrento’s third year in Serie A?
“I want to immediately grasp the first reference just made, because last year in this same period, we still did not know what our home would be. We managed to play in Sorrento thanks to a real task force, and to the important commitment of the municipal administration under the impetus of the mayor Massimo Coppola. As a result we promised ourselves to repay all these efforts with results and longer-term plans for what concerns the sports seasons. After a year of exile in Agerola, planning the transfer market, as well as setting up the entire roster, was not easy. We can consider this year as the real debut in Serie A for this corporate structure, since we were able to plan this appointment knowing where we play, who we can count on, and with the strong shoulders of two years of experience in the category”.
The team is closed and announcements will start soon. What team did you build, and how difficult and stimulating was it to convince important athletes that Sorrento is an ambitious venue?
“The team was built together with the coaching staff. Obviously I work as sporting director, which for me is above all a relational job. I leave the foundations relating to the technical evaluations to the technicians, and all the choices were made in full harmony with the staff. It was pleasant to hear that our club is no longer considered a mere freshman, but a club with a desire to establish itself and an attraction for athletes of absolute value”
What characteristics must not be lacking in the athletes chosen to be part of the project, and what will be the objective of ShedirPharma Sorrento?
“Without hiding too much or spoiling what the ad campaign will be, we can say without a doubt that we have raised the bar.
