An important friendly weekend for our Gialloblu team just spent in Sant’Antioco, where the 22nd Tournament in memory of Giacomo Cabras was played.
In the first match against Consoli Sferc Centrale Del Latte Brescia, our boys for a long time held their own against a superior category opponent despite not expressing one hundred percent of their potential and committing several errors. In Saturday’s match against Cus Cagliari, after a first set won while also playing some good volleyball, we saw a submissive team with no bite.
Certainly important friendlies in view of the official debut in the championship on Saturday 14 October, when, at 7.30 pm at the PalaPirastu in via Rockefeller in Cagliari, the A3 adventure will begin against Moyashi Garlasco.
Coach Franchi tells us his impressions of the two days in the lagoon:
“We return from the Cabras Tournament with two very different defeats. In the first match against Brescia we knew that against an A2 team the best of us would be needed and, in my opinion, for the first three sets we did so, despite technical situations that influenced the result. We made too many technical errors, especially in batting and attack, which should be avoided as much as possible, but it must be said that we did many other things well and held our own against a superior team. We must learn to exploit every situation and be more cynical.
The match against Cus Cagliari, however, started with a good first set but then we didn’t maintain our quality level. We must understand that every opportunity must be used to show the best of ourselves and win a place on the pitch, and, above all, learn to start again in moments of difficulty without demoralizing and disuniting ourselves.”
