The usual meeting between the Serie A coaches Credem Banca and the FIPAV Arbitration Sector was held on Monday in Bologna, with in-depth analysis and explanations relating to the regulation changes and the analysis of the case studies. There will also be space in the morning for a demonstration on the use of the “Tablet System”, which from this year will also be available in Serie A2 and Serie A3 Credem Banca.
The meeting was opened by the President of the Serie A Volleyball League Massimo Righi, in the presence of the coaches of fifty-two Serie A clubs. Speaking for the Match Officials Sector were Luigi Roccatto (National Manager of the Match Officials Sector), Daniele Rapisarda (Commission Contact Referees Role A), Francesco D’Alò (International indoor activity contact) and Luigi Traversa (Executive Secretary).
Among the new features of the Video Check regulation, the one relating to the aerial invasion has attracted greater attention: it will in fact be the first moment of hand-ball contact that will be evaluated, i.e. no aerial invasion foul will be called if the attack starts in one’s own field and will end with a part of the hand in the opponent’s court.
As regards the number of foreigners on the field, the new rule regarding the Free Foreigner was highlighted. Last season, the Libero was considered a single sporting “entity”. Therefore, in the presence of a free foreigner and a free Italian, the latter was also considered a “foreigner”. From this season each Libero will be counted according to their nationality.
Particular attention was also paid to the method of using the Video Check and the management of the discipline during the matches, with questions from the coaches and subsequent debate and discussion judged to be very constructive by those present.
“The constructive and sharing spirit that has always animated the relationships between the Serie A Volleyball League and the Match Officials Sector is also confirmed on this occasion – states the President of the Volleyball League Massimo Righi – and the great support and contribution guaranteed by our coaches who once again confirmed themselves as great professionals”.
In the early hours of the morning, however, the technicians of Serie A2 and A3 Credem Banca were able to delve deeper into the Tablet System, with the experts from Genius Sports, which from this season will allow them, like the SuperLega Credem Banca, to independently manage substitutions, Video Checks, time-outs and trainings.
In the afternoon, however, the coaches were able to meet the Coaches Association represented on the occasion by the lawyer. Massimo Della Rosa and Franceso Oleni.
