First pre-season game of Farmitalia Saturnia which in the friendly match played yesterday at PalaCatania with Avimecc Modica, beat its opponents 4-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-19, 25-19), in a festive PalaCatania which welcomed hundreds of supporters ready to meet the biancoblu who will be involved in the top Italian volleyball championship, that of SuperLega Credem Banca 2023/24.
A useful debut to make the first contact with the city of Catania, but which at the same time served to instill greater awareness of the fact that a lot of work will have to be done on a physical, tactical and technical level. While waiting for the first against Perugia on October 22nd, on the Farmitalia Saturnia calendar there is still a friendly match against Modena on October 6th and one against Monza the following day, and then again on the 14th and 15th in Lublin in Poland for the second Memorial Tomasz Wojtowicz, to remember the world champion spiker in ’74 and Olympic gold medalist in ’76.
Returning to the friendly match, if in the initial stages of the match coach Waldo Kantor relied on captain Santi Orduna, libero Domenico Cavaccini, central defenders Alessandro Tondo and Elia Bossi, opposite tackle Paul Buchegger, and spikers Luigi Randazzo and Mohammadjavad Manavinezhad, during the match he put the whole team on the field, making the PalaCatania light up with the entrance of the two Saturnia veterans and authors of the promotion to A2, Christian Frumuselu and Enrico Zappoli.
During yesterday’s match, the first season tickets signed up until the end of August were delivered and new ones were purchased, awaiting the start of the season.
The club informs that, for subscriptions signed by August 31st, it will be possible to arrange collection by sending an email to comunication@saturniavolley.it.
