CONAD – SFERC CONSULS 1-3 (0-3)

(20-25; 21-25; 19-25; 25-21)

The series of friendly matches scheduled before the start of the championship begins with an excellent performance from Consoli Sferc McDonald’s. Of the four sets played, the first three ended in favor of Tiberti (43 years old today) and his teammates who fielded encouraging attack percentages (57 and 71 and 52%), always higher than those of the hosts, and also increased against the wall during the match.

In the fourth set, the coach from Brescia maintains the main diagonal and Franzoni’s defense line, to insert Ferri and Sarzi Sartori on the side, Malual and Mijatovic in the center, giving space to all his athletes, who lose 25-21.

Zambonardi deployed all his potential at the start with the captain crossing Klapwijk, Candeli and Erati in the centre, Abrahan and Cominetti on the flanks and Franzoni libero.

Fanuli chooses Sperotto and Marks diagonally, Suraci and Gasparini lateral, Sesto and Volpe in the centre, with Torchia and Moltini in a second line tandem.

Despite Reggio Emilia’s aggressive start to serving – explains coach Zambonardi – we were good at reacting by not forcing the serve, but instead focusing on the block-defense correlation which allowed us to take good breaks. Overall an excellent match, considering that it was the first and that we have not yet given space to the game in our technical sessions. Tiberti is giving instructions to all the new players to make the most of his fast game: we are only at the beginning and I am happy to be able to return to the pitch in a couple of days, giving space to the whole group who are working well and deserve to be rewarded.”

On Friday 15th, Consoli will in fact be at the PalabancaSport in Piacenza where she will face a Gas Sales team without the athletes involved with their respective national teams, but still a Super League team! There won’t be Romanò and former Toucan Scanferla – protagonists of the European Championship Final Four – nor Simon, but the team under Anastasi’s command is still an exceptional testing ground to be exploited to the fullest. Warm-up starts at 5pm, free entry.
