The psychologist and psychotherapist Giorgia Tanturli, registered in the order of psychologists of Tuscany, former professional volleyball player, graduated with honors in “Clinical and community psychology” at the La Sapienza University of Rome, will continue the collaboration with the Lupi S. Cross. He will continue to work with both professionals and youngsters in a path that will revolve around two distinct projects, one, started in 2019, aimed at the dynamics of a group of Serie A athletes, the other, approached in 2017, designed to the management of the youth world and the “parents” sector.

With reference to last year’s activity, we asked Dr. Tanturli for a balance sheet divided into various topics:

the work done with the first team group, in a season characterized by many difficulties, especially in the final (coach change)
the response of the youngest to the possibility of being able to go to an interview with a professional psychotherapist
the feedback received from parents, personally involved with a series of meetings.
“Last season I followed for the fifth consecutive year the aspect of the mental preparation of the boys of the A2 first team. Everyone managed to follow me, including the younger guys, who were very open and flexible in approaching a world unknown to them. We worked, with the whole group, on awareness of one’s body, on managing stress in the race, on strengthening resources. At the end of the regular season, characterized by ups and downs, we managed to approach the playoffs in the right way also thanks to the commitment that the boys put into getting back into the “flow”.

“I am very satisfied with how the work with the youth sector, for women and men, has developed. The listening desk, “A space for you”, has reached its sixth year of activity. Many showed up, even going beyond the two-three normal interviews, they kept stopping me in the corridors and informing me about what was happening to them, about the progress made in some situations we had talked about”.

“In the 2022-23 season we increased the offer with some meetings for parents. Theme, the world of teenagers. I perceive many difficulties in approaching this reality, mainly because it embraces a very vast age “range”, from the pre-adolescence of 9-10 years to the 18-19 range. Sometimes parents don’t have the right tools to decipher their children’s language, attitude, requests. They can only grasp the surface of their world.
