5 seasons in A1, 5 in A2 and, with the next one, 5 in A3. This is the curriculum vitae of the new opposite of the Volley Team Club Stefano Giannotti, Paduan born in 1989 who also boasts a Championship and an A2 Italian Cup in his palmares in which he was voted MVP of the final.

“I know Stefano very well having won a B2 in Mestrino and it is already the second year that I have tried to take him to San Donà – comments Sports Director Eugenio Tassan – for me he is one of the strongest opposites in the category. This year in Garlasco he showed his his value and when we proposed our project to him he immediately accepted our offer The team is really competitive with him, he can give us a big hand in terms of experience in A3 having played a lot in the Superlega in Padua where he was the owner and then in A2. For the Volley Team Club it is an honor to have a player of this caliber in the team”

A long career for Stefano Giannotti who had Padua with his main stage between A1 and A2 (7 years in total) and then a wander around Italy between Monza in A1, Bolzano, Spoleto and Brescia in A2 and Grottazzolina, Macerata, Galatina and Garlasco in A3. Just in Pavia, last year, he dragged the team with 507 points to fifth place in the regular season and to the round of 16 of the playoffs.

“I heard Sports Director Tassan, my former teammate, who explained to me how they are building the team – explains the new opposite Giannotti – and after a push and pull that has lasted for a few years I have ascertained that the way of thinking of the Volley Team Club matches my way of seeing volleyball. Despite my age I still want to get busy, other clubs had offered me a contract but we didn’t have the same philosophy. The proximity to home also had its weight , in fact after Padova it is the first return to Veneto.”
