Gabbiano Mantova organized an event this morning at PalaSguaitzer, where it plays its home matches, with the students of the lower secondary school of the Redentore school in Mantua. Accompanied by their teachers, 110 boys and girls spent two hours learning the fundamentals of volleyball, before competing on the four courts set up for this sporting festival. The morning ended with a challenge between students and professors, with dunks, for a fun finale to the party.
The promoter of the initiative, which will certainly have a following in other schools in the area, is Gabbiano’s athletic trainer Elena Giannotta. The president Paolo Fattori and the manager Stefano Melli were also present at the event. Together with the boys and girls, the protagonists were the setters Luca Martinelli and Niccolò Depalma, the spikers Riccardo Scaltriti, Raul Parolari and Zlatan Yordanov, and the opposite player Marco Novello.
On the four courts, all the students, in rotation, benefited from the teachings and advice of the players in the first hour of the match. In the following hour there was space for the final dunk battles between all the teams who took turns on the courts. There was also the opportunity to see the players at work in a mini match, waiting to fill the PalaSguaitzer in the next home match, Saturday 18 November at 5pm against Moyashi Garlasco.
