Born in ’99, Francesco Pierri strengthens the white and blue defense. The young libero is a promise of Italian volleyball and arrives in Sicily after a year in the Superlega with Taranto.
“My first experience in SuperLega was very formative from a technical point of view and from a human point of view. I had already signed a one-year contract in A2, but when Farmitalia Saturnia’s proposal arrived, I jumped at the “opportunity, with the hope of being able to grow further and maybe carve out a space for myself to be able to have my say in this championship, which is the best in the world. My dream is to establish myself in the SuperLega. I played at PalaCatania two seasons ago when I wore the Casarano jersey and the feedback I had had was incredible, a huge arena that can certainly be one of the best in Italy with an audience that is always present. As far as the club is concerned, at the moment the feeling is that it is a very ambitious: it’s not for everyone to win an A3 and then find the personal and economic strength to tackle an even higher level project. There are all the conditions for next year to be an unforgettable one”.
