Four weeks marked by sweat, effort, commitment. In short, from training sessions interpreted to the maximum. And now the time has come for the first, albeit sketchy, answers regarding the activity conducted in the gym. But it will also be an opportunity for the public to see the new rhinos in action. Tomorrow (Saturday 16 September), at 5pm, the Spes Arena will be the stage for the match that kicks off the Belluno Volleyball season: Gian Luca Colussi’s boys will face a second-class opponent like Gs Povegliano of exes. Three in particular: Alex Paganin, Alberto Gionchetti and Marco Boz.
GREAT WORK – «It may seem obvious, but I expect to see some volleyball – argues the coach -. In this period we have done a large amount of work from a physical point of view, while in the last few days we have focused more on the technical-tactical aspects. And we set up some six-on-six games. Consequently, in the first test, we will have to try above all to get to know each other.”
ROTATION – A rotation of all players is envisaged: «So we on the staff will also be able to evaluate how each individual athlete will behave in a match, no matter how friendly. It is essential to deepen knowledge through communication: on the parquet we will need feedback and dialogue, in order to clarify those aspects which, right now, inevitably need to be explored further.”
DELICATE PHASE – The first month in the gym is now about to be over: «The balance is certainly positive. And the work undertaken with the athletic trainer, Sergio Sartori, was significant: this is a somewhat delicate phase, in the sense that more than one person had been out of action for several months and the recovery could not fail to be gradual. Knock on wood, no accidents occurred and everyone managed to follow this initial path.”
IT TAKES TIME – The team is ambitious, no one has ever hidden it. The important thing, however, is not to rush: «The group is amalgamating, then it is obvious that everyone has their own characteristics and personality – concludes Colussi -. So we need time to get to know each other, understand each other, sometimes even to clash. Because there are fourteen of us and, during the season, it is normal for different visions to emerge. But, as I told the boys, when and if it happens we look at each other and clarify it. In any case, I repeat, everything is going well: I’m lucky enough to work with intelligent athletes.”
