The first season of SuperLega for Farmitalia Saturnia officially kicks off tomorrow, Friday 25 August 2023. After tonight’s meeting at the Sigonella Inn, where players and technical staff will spend two weeks in retreat, the first day’s program includes an appointment with the medical visits and the meeting with coach Waldo Kantor, to take stock of the situation. The start of the Credem Banca 2023/24 SuperLega Championship is scheduled for 22 October with the first away match against Sir Safety Perugia.
For the blue and whites, therefore, two weeks are expected to get to know each other, discuss, train together, with a busy schedule of commitments to be carried out in total sharing, renewing a tradition, that of the retreat, which started last season. “What the players and technical staff of Farmitalia Saturnia are preparing to experience is a moment of great value and the club will join them in the next few days, to forge an engaging relationship that will have to accompany us throughout the season” – explains the president Luigi Pulvirenti – “Farmitalia Saturnia is a family and this is its strength. The amalgam that was created last season on this occasion was our trump card and I’m sure it will be like this again this year”.
The Farmitalia Saturnia training sessions will take place at the PalaCatania and on the sand of the Plaia del Lido le Capannine. Sessions, weights in the gym, but also moments of conviviality between Saturnia veterans and new faces. The Kantor staff, historically supported by Mauro Lo Deserto and Mauro Puleo, with the physiotherapist Gaetano Caluccio and the managing director of the sports area Piero D’Angelo, are joined by the assistant coach Peppe Bua, the athletic trainer Daniele De Ceglia and the team manager Cesare Gradi who wore the Saturnia captain’s shirt in the 2021/22 season.
