Following Fanuli’s promotion from second coach to head coach, the Reggio-based club appointed Fabio Sirotti as deputy.

The coach was already part of the youth sector of Volley Tricolore, in fact he coached the under 17s and under 15s of the yellow and red nursery, now he finds himself facing a top-level championship: “It’s a wonderful emotion, it’s the city team that participates to a prestigious championship, it is a situation that for obvious reasons can only involve to the maximum”.

Many of his experiences also in the top flight, he coached in Modena, but also in Reggio and in the national team: “I trained with Jankovic, in Modena, the year of the first champions cup, then I came to Reggio Emilia in A1 and A2 with Guidetti Paolo, always as second coach. As first coach I coached Serie B in Sassuolo and the military national team with which I won 2 European titles in beach volleyball and the military Olympics in Zagreb in 1999. In 2004 I was part of the staff of the Montali national team for the preparation of the Olympics ”. Definitely a high-level curriculum that the coach will use to help his new team and aim high: “I have no particular objectives, apart from making myself available to the head coach Fabio Fanuli and the team, to get the best for the club and for the Volleyball of the city of Reggio Emilia”.

Fabio Fanuli, now head coach, is happy to be able to work even more closely with Sirotti, the two already collaborated in the youth sector, where Fanuli is technical director: “My first week as team coach was intense, both from emotional point of view than working out in the gym. – comments the Apulian coach – In this the boys were extraordinary, they helped me a lot with availability, dedication and the right focus, I’m sure we will continue on this path. Sirotti? he is an expert coach, even if in recent years he has dealt with young players, he has experience in Serie A and with national teams. Like all of us, he will put his skills at the service of the team. I have always worked well with him in the management of the youth groups, so I believe there are the conditions to continue to do so with the first team as well”.
