Marco Pierotti is a new player of Emma Villas Volley Siena. The former Bergamo spiker, born in 1996 and who last year played for Delta Group Porto Viro, landed in Siena and was presented this morning during a press conference. A long courtship materialized in this case: several times, even in the past, Pierotti’s name had in fact been associated with Emma Villas Volley during the transfer market. Pierotti has met Siena several times during his career as an opponent, but now he will wear the Emma Villas Volley shirt.

Last year in Porto Viro he closed the regular season with 310 points, therefore an average of 11.9 points per game; he put up 24 game-winning serves and 22 blocks. His offensive percentage was 45.8%, his perfect receptions 22.6%.

The player has two Superlega seasons in his curriculum, while the next one will be his seventh season in Serie A2. He has known coach Gianluca Graziosi for many years, who has been a sort of mentor for him and who in the next championship will live the sixth season together with Matteo Pierotti.

Pierotti arrived this morning in Siena, where he was welcomed by the vice president of the white and blue club Fabio Mechini. “We had been chasing each other for a few years and sometimes in the past we had already been close, this time the marriage was done – are the statements of the spiker Marco Pierotti. – I’m happy with this transfer, Siena is a very ambitious reality and has always wanted to do things big. The presence on the Emma Villas bench of coach Gianluca Graziosi certainly influenced my decision, I know his way of working very well, which I share, and I am happy to be with him again”.

Pierotti continues: “We met Nevot a few times in the past in international matches, then I know Krauchuk and obviously Copelli, I read about the purchase of Trillini who I consider a good player. I therefore believe that a good job has been done, the team set up up to now seems competitive to me. My personal goal is to try to win, this environment can be ideal to be able to take a further step of growth in my career”.

Marco Pierotti already played in A2 in the 2015-2016 season in Potenza Picena. Then two years in Bergamo for him before moving to Modena, in the Superlega, with coach Velasco. It was precisely in Modena that Pierotti won an Italian Super Cup. The following year he remained in the Superlega and moved to Vibo Valentia.
