First market hit for Delta Group Porto Viro, which ensures the performance of spiker Nicola Tiozzo, born in 1993, 198 centimeters tall, in the last two seasons under BCC Castellana Grotte.
This transfer had been in the air for a while. Born in the nearby Chioggia, Tiozzo had already been associated in the past with the colors of Porto Viro, to which, moreover, his brother Lorenzo was also linked between 2020 and 2022. Now what was only a summer suggestion becomes reality with the signature on the his new contract with the nerofucsia club: “After fourteen years of being away, getting back home and playing in the most representative club in the area where I was born is a wonderful feeling – says Tiozzo – There are not many athletes who have this possibility and for this I would like to thank the club for the opportunity it has given me. In addition, I am lucky enough to meet some friends and former teammates again, one of them Fefe (Garnica, ed), whom I thank because he helped me fully understand the club’s project: it will be a pleasure to play together again after the years of Bergamo”.
“There are so many emotions and thoughts right now – continues Tiozzo – I am aware that I am in a comfort zone from a logistical point of view but at the same time I also have a great responsibility in my hands. I arrive in Porto Viro more motivated than ever, I have several goals that I have set and I hope to achieve them. I know that Delta is a young club which is structuring itself to raise its level year after year and which does not miss anything from its players. The team has a large following and there are always fans in the arena, to whom I immediately send a greeting: I hope to meet you soon”.
Tiozzo’s career began in the youth teams of the then Sisley Treviso, in orogranata he also disputed his first national championship, of B2, in 2011/2012. The following year he moved to Conselice, in B1, a category in which he also played in Reggio Emilia in 2013/2014: with Volley Tricolore he immediately obtained promotion and made his debut in Serie A2 Credem Banca the following season. In 2015/2016 he moved to Cantù, still in A2, then the big leap to SuperLega with Sora’s shirt. In 2017/2018 he returned to the cadetteria, in Rome, where he won his first Italian Cup. From 2018 to 2020 he was in Bergamo, a two-year period sealed by the conquest of another A2 Italian Cup. In 2020/2021 he wore the Cuneo shirt before moving to Castellana Grotte.
