The press conference was held this morning at the Gran Sala Piero Cesanelli, inside the Sferisterio Arena in Macerata, to talk about the two days of great volleyball that will take place on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 at the Banca Macerata Forum. This is the second edition of the Del Monte® Italian Cup of Serie A3, the first with the formula of the Final Four, and was presented by the President of the Serie A Volleyball League Massimo Righi, the President and General Manager of Volleyball Macerata Gianluca Tittarelli and Francesco Gabrielli, with the presence of the Mayor of Macerata Sandro Parcaroli and the Councilor for Sport Riccardo Sacchi, with the interventions of the General Director of the University of Macerata Mauro Giustozzi, and of the coach of the Med Store Tunit Macerata Flavio Gulinelli and of Captain Simone Gabbanelli .
Within the evocative setting offered by the Gran Sala Piero Cesanelli, with the coveted trophy behind him, the first to speak was Mayor Parcaroli, “The Final Four is a wonderful opportunity for the city and I hope to be able to see the stadium full of fans, I also invite the press to help us fill it, in the sporting spirit: I would like the home crowd to applaud the opposing teams as well. Sport is part of the tradition of Macerata, which in 2022 was the European City of Sport, and represents an effective vehicle for important messages for young people”. The President of Volleyball Macerata Gianluca Tittarelli then recounted the long journey made by the company, “It’s been almost 40 years of activity and sacrifices. We are proud of this journey and of having brought the Del Monte® Coppa Italia finals to Macerata, it is a great commitment and we are doing our best to ensure the success of the event. The other teams will arrive in the next few days, the hotels in the city will be full and Macerata will once again breathe the air of a great volleyball event. We will also be protagonists on the pitch with our team and it is important for the boys to play for the trophy in front of their own fans. I therefore join the Mayor’s invitation, we look forward to seeing you at the Banca Macerata Forum”.
