Sunday afternoon coach Gianluca Graziosi pointed towards him and motioned for him to enter the pitch. Imagine the emotion that the 19-year-old spiker Federico Pellegrini must have felt at that moment. Who is a boy who went through the entire process in the youth sector of Emma Villas and who just a few months ago was engaged in the Marche region with the blue and white jersey in the Junior League, the most important youth volleyball tournament in Italy. In that context he faced and challenged all the major volleyball talents in the country.
Precisely after the Junior League Pellegrini made the big leap: he moved permanently to the first team, training every day and experiencing the daily life of the first team, in which he is playing this season. He also plays in the second Sienese team, the one coached by coach Marco Monaci and which plays in the Serie C championship, together with other members of the first team such as Martin Coser and Mathia Ivanov.
In Porto Viro, then, a great satisfaction came for him: his debut in an official match of the A2 series championship. Pellegrini entered the field in a match that was decidedly important for the Sienese team, who returned to smiling and winning a championship match after three consecutive defeats. For the 19-year-old born in Montepulciano it was double satisfaction, and it was a day impossible to forget.
