It will be a rest Sunday for Cisterna Volley who will resume physical preparation on Monday. A phase of commitments is about to begin for the Pontine team which will project them directly into the first day of the Super League championship, on 22 October, in Cisterna with the Italian champions from Trento. The Cisterna starts on 30 September with the quadrangular Città del Codex e del Castello di Corigliano Rossano in Calabria, then on 14 and 15 October the pontini will be engaged in Gubbio in the Spirito di Squadra charity tournament.

After the two joint training sessions that coach Guillermo Falasca’s team carried out at the sports hall in via delle Province in Cisterna di Latina for the team of sporting director Candido Grande, the time has come to start travelling.

«We are in a very intense preparation phase and the workloads are considerable in this period, both the Corigliano and Gubbio tournaments are two important tests to know the level of this team even if it must be said that we will not be at the complete due to the players who are still involved in the national team but we hope to have the full team at the Gubbio tournament – explains sporting director Candido Grande – We are happy to compete against Italian teams and international clubs”.

In Calabria, at the PalaBrillia, Cisterna Volley will be involved in the quadrangular match with the Bulgarians of coach Giuliani’s Hebar, then with Taranto and Palmi. The matches will be played on Saturday 30 September while the finals are scheduled for Sunday 1 October, furthermore Cisterna Volley will play a test match on Monday 2 October against Hebar, a team that won the championship in Bulgaria in 2021 and 2022, and which in roster features numerous acquaintances of the Italian Super League: Michele Baranowicz, Giulio Sabbi, Jacopo Massari, Rozalin Penchev, and Viktor Yosifov.

In Umbria, at the Palestra Polivalente in Gubbio, Cisterna Volley will have to compete with Padova, Panathinaikos and Taranto: the matches will be played on 14 and 15 October and will be the last test before their debut in the Super League. With the conclusion of the European championships, the Turkish Efe Bayram and the Spanish Jordi Ramon have arrived in Cisterna, while the two Serbs involved with the national team in the Olympic qualifiers are still missing: for this reason Pavle Peric and Aleksandar Nedeljković will be available to coach Falasca in the coming weeks.
