After two years in the Marche region and a Scudetto in the red and white shirt, setter Daniele Sottile says goodbye to Cucine Lube Civitanova. The veteran of the top flight put his experience at the service of the Club and the younger players by gaining space in official matches and helping to raise the level of training. The Sicilian director has always been ready when called upon, such as in the 8th return round of the Regular Season, when at the age of 43 years, 6 months and 8 days he walked the field of the PalaEstra during the match won in three sets in the Emma Villas Aubay Siena headquarters.

Daniele Sottile’s farewell: “To the melancholy of the greetings is added the displeasure for a shaded Italian flag in the last act. We wanted the title with all our strength for the club and the fans. Not having repeated it hurts a lot, but little by little the anger will give way to the memory of a top-level season. I was impressed by the personality of the younger players, the way they became aware of their abilities and took responsibility by playing incredible Play Offs. I felt at home at Lube, my family was warmly welcomed by the red and white fans and, last season, I achieved a goal I cared about, winning the Scudetto after many years of career, an unforgettable experience. In Civitanova I knew my role well, I knew I was facing a champion like Luciano De Cecco. A new chapter is about to open for me, I feel fit and I want to fight ”.

A.S. Volley Lube thanks the athlete for the professionalism shown and wishes him to reach new goals in the net.
