After the Play Offs, intermediate round between the group stage and the Quarter Finals, the names of the opponents of the three SuperLega Credem Banca clubs are known: Perugia will face off against Berlin Recycling Volleys, while Trento will once again find the European champions of Grupa Azoty Kedzierzyn-Kozle. Civitanova’s opponent, Halkbank Ankara, is already known.
Berlin Recycling Volleys will be the opponent of Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia in the Quarter Finals of the Champions League: the German team beat the Turkish team Ziraat Bank Ankara yesterday evening, in the one-off match of the Play Offs which gave access to the next round, qualifying for the double-header with the Block Devils.
Trentino Itas’ run in the 2023 CEV Champions League will continue in the final phase exactly where it left off last January 25 in the group phase, or rather from a match at Grupa Azoty Kedzierzyn-Kozle’s home. In fact, the opponents of the Gialloblù will be the two times reigning European Champions in the double round of the Quarter Finals, having achieved qualification for the Play Off round at the end of the Polish derby with Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie (3-0 win against first leg, defeat at tie break in the second leg). For the third edition in a row, the two teams will therefore face each other in the final draw; the first match will be played away, at the Azoty Arena, probably on Wednesday 8 March (date and time to be defined), while the second will be played at the BLM Group Arena on Thursday 16 March at 20.30 (date and time already official).
No update, as planned, for Cucine Lube Civitanova which, as fourth in the ranking of the first, already knew the name of its opponent, namely Halkbank Ankara, fifth in the ranking of the first thanks to first place in Pool B. In European event, Lube will be back on the pitch on March 7 in Turkey and on March 15 at the Eurosuole Forum at 8.30 pm for the double challenge against Nimir Abdel-Aziz and new signing Thomas Jaeschke.
